I'm Isabel Mercedes
Crafting interactions that spark awareness and shift perspectives.
I’m a multilingual Interaction Designer in training at SUPSI with a background in communication, human–technology studies, and web design. My practice is shaped by gaming culture, alternative subcultures, and a deep interest in psychology, which drive me to create interactive experiences that challenge assumptions and invite critical reflection.
I focus on socially relevant design — from playful, experimental interventions to systems that support collective wellbeing. I’m currently looking for an internship in Ticino or the German‑speaking part of Switzerland, ideally within a studio committed to meaningful, future‑oriented work.
The featured projects — created during my MA in Interaction Design at SUPSI and through DesignLab’s UX Design boot camp with mentor Christian Bögner — reflect my ability to design and prototype interactive systems from concept to implementation. My work spans tangible interfaces built with Arduino, sensors, LED matrices, and digital fabrication techniques, as well as software‑based prototypes using JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C++, and Autodesk Fusion.
These projects also showcase my skills in designing apps and responsive websites with Adobe CC and Figma, and in conducting user research and usability testing with real users to inform and validate design decisions.
